The new sandwich has a panko-breaded Alaskan pollock fillet, lettuce, American cheese, pickles, and dill tartar sauce.
Wendy's served a similar fish sandwich using wild-caught North Pacific cod before this one.
Many customers "remarked how the sandwich's texture, taste, and crispiness is better compared to the cod sandwich," prompting the firm to bring it back.
The rollout comes two days before Lent begins, enabling people who won't eat meat on Fridays and Ash Wednesday.
