McDonald's Adult Happy Meal Stunt Is a Fail

Generations of Americans begged their parents for a Happy Meal from McDonald's. Now, McDonald's offered an adult Happy Meal.

The brand bet big on nostalgia with its newest Cactus Plant Flea Market Box, but consumers and workers say Happy Meals shouldn't grow up.

The restaurant debuted a limited-time Happy Meal package with Kanye West's Cactus Plant Flea Market last week.

It includes a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken nuggets, medium fries, and a medium drink. It includes adult-geared plastic toys like Grimace, the Hamburglar, Birdie, and Cactus Buddy.

"The box is redone in Cactus Plant Flea Market's trademark style with McD's famous Golden Arches.

The box will be available beginning Oct. 3 in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, through delivery, or on the McDonald's app "McDonald's released a statement.

So grownups may eat a grown-up amount and receive a toy as in the past. Early reviews pointed out the idea's flaws, despite its first appeal.

"McDonald's has numerous options for customised toys. Toy comics. Nicktoys. TMNT toys. These would've amplified Millennial nostalgia "I agree with NJ.com's Jeremy Schneider.

Also, evaluate the pricing. As a youngster, you don't mind paying for fast food, but as an adult, you may baulk at a Cactus Plant Flea Market Box.

Vega noted that's $2.60 more than a conventional Big Mac Meal, but delivering the same quantity of food.

Reddit post: "New Adult Happy-Meals are killing me" says "We recently got off "buy one get one for a dollar" and were overwhelmed with Big Mac meals. Now we must stockpile them for a rush. Ugh."
